Rex Park Facility Upgrades
The Rex Park concession stand and restrooms will be replaced with a new modular building.
July 2025: Contractors are awaiting Georgia Power to run electrical lines to establish power to the modular building.
June 2025: The modular building is in place. Site leveling and utility connections are scheduled.
May 2025: The modular unit arrived and set in place. Installation of the electrical and plumbing is in progress.
April 2025: The site has been cleared and is protected with fencing. The modular building fabricator estimates buildings will be ready for shipping near the end of May 2025.
March 2025: The prefabricated buildings are expected to arrive onsite by late April. The site has been cleared and prepared for installation.
February 2025: Demolition of the existing concession and restroom building is complete. The new modular building is expected to arrive by the end of March.
January 2025: Demolition of the existing concession stand, and restroom building has started. Removal is expected to be complete by mid-February.
December 2024: Demolition of existing concession and restroom facilities is planned for the end of January 2025. Fabrication of modular buildings is estimated to be completed in March 2025.
November 2024: Revised drawings of the modular buildings are in review. When the review is complete, designs will be submitted for fabrication.
October 2024: Contractor BRTU is expected to provide building drawings of the modular unit by mid-November.
September 2024: BRTU Construction is scheduled to begin demolition of the existing Rex Park structure on Nov. 1, 2024. In the meantime, designs have been submitted to building manufacturer for review before fabrication begins.
August 2024: The contractor, BRTU Construction Inc., is awaiting a notice to proceed from Central Services to start the project.
July 2024: Central Services is expected to provide the Board of Commissioners with a proposed recommended vendor on Aug. 6, 2024
