Clayton County Senior Services Department enhances the quality of life for elderly citizens by assessing and expanding an in-home service delivery model. The programs offered are designed with an emphasis on health and wellness which include health screenings, exercise programs, nutrition, education, and field trips.
Located on Anvil Block Road in Ellenwood, this new Senior Center will be the fourth SPLOST-funded Senior Center in Clayton County. It will provide the opportunity for expanded services and programs that promote independence, dignity, and enhance the quality of life for older adults. New features include a lap swimming pool, state-of-the-art fitness center, a community garden, and large multipurpose space for performing arts and other activities.
Update: The Northeast Senior Center facility is approximately 98% complete. The pool punch list items have been completed. Landscaping and hardware modifications are complete. Handicap pedestals are being installed. Architectural and Building Maintenance Department’s punch list items are being resolved. Detention pond remediation is being priced and will be installed in either December or January. The metal cladding on the side of the building has several areas that need to be replaced. Materials for metal cladding will be delivered by mid-December and installed in January or February.
