The Clayton County Library System contributes to the community and its citizens by offering services that meet their informational, educational and leisure interests. There are six libraries located in the County and a total of 2992 library programs and over ½ million books. A new library offers Clayton County residents the opportunity to enrich their lives by offering them the best source to find information that is important to them.
This proposed seventh library will be constructed with enclosed and individual rooms, meeting rooms designed for daily functions with a capacity of more than 40 people. Areas known as Maker’s Space will be included for creative activities. The furniture, fixtures and equipment will be mobile and easy to move around and will include furniture with charging stations for phones, laptops and other mobile devices.
Update: Northwest Branch Library is approximately 99% complete and is in the punch list phase. The monument sign installation is complete. Bike racks have been installed. The canopy at the entrance was installed on December 3, 2020. Benches and planters are delayed due to COVID-19 and will be removed from scope through deduct Change Order and will be ordered at a future date.
