Clayton County residents approve the 2027 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST). The next iteration of the one-percent sales tax and use begins on Jan. 1, 2027, which is estimated to raise $412.7 million to fund capital projects throughout Clayton County and its seven cities.
Since 2004, the Clayton County Board of Commissioners has used the one-cent SPLOST for countywide improvements. The Clayton County SPLOST helps move the county forward by funding capital improvements within infrastructure, public safety, buildings, technology, and overall quality of life.
